Starr Scott Posts School Record at Mizzou

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Saint Louis University track and field teams turned in several standout performances Friday at the Missouri Invitational, highlighted by Starr Scott breaking the school record in the indoor 800 meters.

Scott finished third overall in the event in a time of 2:12.22. That broke the previous school mark of 2:12.94, established in 2016 by Emma Kidd.

Becky Phillips posted a personal record in the 400 meters, finishing third overall in 56.59. That is the fifth-fastest time in the A-10 so far this year. 

Phillips ran the third leg on the Billikens' 4x400-meter relay that placed second with a time of 3:48.49. Also competing on the squad was Patricia O'Neill, Zora Williams and Quincy Hubert.

Sophia Pelligreen continued her strong start to the season by finishing second in the mile with a time of 4:51.12.

On the men's side, Sam Lamaze captured the 400-meter win with a season-best time of 47.34. In the men's 800 meters, Chase Pitre finished runner-up at 1:52.17.

Ronnie Brown delivered the event win in the 3000 meters, crossing the line in 8:19.00. 

Saint Louis returns to action next week for the Indiana State Open in Terre Haute, Ind.
