MURRAY, Ky. – Saint Louis' outdoor track and field season opened with a bang, as three school records fell this past weekend at the Margaret Simmons Invitational in Murray, Ky. It was the first meet of the outdoor season for the Billikens.
Madeline Rowold posted the new school record in the javelin, reaching 47.10 meters. That exceeds her own previous record of 46.02 meters, which she set last season.
Jayden Kouadio is the Billiken record holder in the high jump. He registered a jump of 2.04 meters, just clipping the previous mark of 2.03 meters held by Will Hinegardner (2016) and Ethan Erusha (2021).
Finally, Sam Lamaze broke his own school record in the 400 meters, running 46.97 to break his record of 47.01 he established last season at the A-10 Championships.
The Billikens are home next weekend at the SLU Medical Center Recreational Complex. The SLU Speed/Power Festival is Friday night (March 27), while the Billiken Invitational is Saturday (March 28).
