WASHINGTON – Saint Louis sophomore Sam Lamaze was named the first Atlantic 10 Conference Men's Outdoor Track and Field Performer of the Week of the season, the league announced today.
It is the fifth weekly accolade of Lamaze's young career.
In the outdoor opener this past weekend at Margaret Simmons Invitational at Murray State, Lamaze broke his own school record in the 400 meters, running 46.97 to win the event. That was the fastest time in the A-10 on opening weekend and ranks 32nd nationally.
Lamaze will run the 400 meters at the SLU Speed/Power Festival on Friday, then again in the Billiken Invitational on Saturday.
