ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis senior throwers Tristan Boatman and Madeline Rowold have qualified for the First Rounds of the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships, scheduled for May 27-31 at University of Arkansas in Fayetteville.
Boatman will compete in the men's hammer throw on Wednesday, May 27, beginning at 9:30 a.m. He enters the First Rounds with a top mark of 64.07 meters, ranking 35th in the West Region.
Rowold earned a berth in the women's javelin throw, which is scheduled for Thursday, May 28, at 2 p.m. The reigning Atlantic 10 Conference champion in the event, Rowold owns a top throw of 49.21 meters, ranking 34th in the West Region.
Boatman and Rowold will compete for spots at the finals of the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Eugene, set for June 10-13 at Hayward Field. Athletes ranked among the top 48 in each event qualified for the NCAA West First Rounds, with the top 12 finishers from both the East and West sites advancing to the national championships.
SLU has advanced at least one student-athlete to the NCAA Championships 15 times in the last 20 seasons. The Billikens have had two athletes qualify for NCAA Championship finals competition in program history — Toby Gillen in the 5,000 meters in 2023 and Samantha Kunza in the hammer throw in 2024.
