Jack Favazza of the Men's Swimming & Diving team served as a Weather Intern at KTVI FOX 2 in the summer of 2026
Saint Louis University student-athletes took part in a wide variety of internships this past summer, gaining valuable professional experience in fields ranging from technology and engineering to business, construction, broadcasting, biomedical research and athletics administration.
The following is a sampling of internships completed by SLU student-athletes this past summer:
Hayden Barnes | Men's Swimming & Diving
Project Management Intern, Little Dixie Construction
Barnes gained experience in construction project management by attending meetings, reviewing plans, completing takeoffs, ordering finish products and creating and responding to requests for information (RFIs).
Boen Brockmiller | Men's Track & Field
Technology Strategy Consulting Summer Associate, Accenture
Brockmiller worked in technology strategy consulting, contributing to client projects and helping develop solutions to business challenges.
His responsibilities included collaborating with his team, conducting research and preparing presentations to support recommendations. The internship also provided an opportunity to learn more about the consulting industry and how technology and business decisions intersect across organizations.
Hailey Eriksen | Women's Swimming & Diving
Undergraduate Biomedical Research Intern, Creighton University Center for Promoting Health and Health Equity
Eriksen spent her summer in a biomedical research laboratory at Creighton University, working under the mentorship of Dr. Catherine Opere.
Her research focused on novel trifunctional compounds being studied as potential therapeutic treatments for glaucoma. Eriksen worked in the lab throughout the summer and developed her own publication based on her research, which she presented to the Center for Promoting Health and Health Equity board.
Moira Falli | Softball
Statistician, Lake County Corn Dogs
Falli combined her interests in sports analytics and communications during her summer with the Lake County Corn Dogs baseball team. She created Excel spreadsheets tracking player and team statistics, analyzed game data to identify trends and prepared reports for coaches and staff.
She also wrote feature stories highlighting players and team accomplishments, researching statistics, interviewing players and turning data into stories for fans.

Weather Intern, KTVI FOX 2
Favazza gained hands-on broadcasting experience in the weather department at KTVI FOX 2, working with a green screen and practicing the presentation of weather forecasts.
He also appeared on the station's streaming platform, delivering weekend getaway forecasts and discussing weather phenomena from around the country.
Dylan Gormont | Baseball
Athletics Business Office Assistant, Saint Louis University
Gormont gained experience on the business side of collegiate athletics while working in the SLU Athletics Business Office.
He worked with coaches and staff throughout the department, helped organize the mail room and assisted with team orders. He also began developing a travel guide for SLU teams traveling for competitions.
John Giricz | Men's Cross Country and Track & Field
Civil Engineering Intern, Waukesha County Department of Public Works
Giricz gained hands-on civil engineering experience with the Waukesha County Department of Public Works.
One of his primary projects was the county's 2027 Pavement Project, where he completed AutoCAD line work for roadway plans and prepared project cost estimates. He also helped develop a proposed solution for a dangerous school crossing by evaluating design options and potential safety improvements.
Giricz also visited project sites and participated in field work, gaining firsthand experience with how roadway projects progress from design to construction.
Kyle Giricz | Men's Cross Country and Track & Field
Software Intern, WEC Energy Group
Giricz worked on the technology side of the energy industry, developing a full-stack web application using Angular and .NET to monitor the health of data coming from renewable energy sources.
Kayla Jansen | Volleyball
Project Accounting Intern, iSuite
Jansen gained experience in project accounting at iSuite, an IMI company and mechanical construction contractor.
She worked with project managers on large construction projects, assisting with monthly projections, progress billings, accounts payable invoices, job setup and project closeouts. She also ran reports comparing estimated and actual costs and helped track changes in project profitability.
Jansen also visited a job site and saw a construction project in progress, providing a firsthand look at the projects she was helping manage from the office.
Kyra Phelan | Spirit Team
Talent Acquisition Intern, World Wide Technology
Phelan supported the recruitment of technical sales talent at World Wide Technology. She used LinkedIn Recruiter and the company's applicant tracking system to source, identify and evaluate potential candidates.
Phelan also joined fellow WWT summer interns for a Day of Caring, helping clean up Forest Park ahead of the Fourth of July weekend.
Libby Williams | Women's Track & Field
People Solutions Intern, Lockton Companies
Williams worked with Lockton Companies as a People Solutions intern, completing informational trainings and projects while assisting her unit with various tasks related to employee benefit offerings.
The experience provided Williams with an introduction to the insurance and insurance brokerage industries while allowing her to work on projects supporting clients.
