ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis rallied from a second-half deficit to earn a 1-1 draw against Drake Tuesday night at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.
The Billikens (3-3-3) controlled much of the play offensively, recording a 10-4 advantage in shots and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. SLU also put four shots on target, compared to three for the Bulldogs.
The Billikens appeared to strike first early in the match, but the goal was taken off the board because of an offside call.
The teams went into halftime scoreless, with the Billikens holding a 4-2 advantage in shots. SLU's Lucas McPartlin made one save in the opening 45 minutes to keep Drake off the scoreboard.
Drake (4-3-3) broke through in the 64th minute when Evan Carlson scored off an assist from Jack Dancer to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.
The Billikens answered in the 82nd minute. Luke Adams headed home his second goal in as many games off a corner kick, with Guilherme Gomes and JC Cortez credited with assists, leveling the match at 1-1.
Saint Louis continued to pressure for the go-ahead goal before the teams settled for the draw.
McPartlin finished with two saves for the Billikens, while Drake goalkeeper Tomas Butkovic recorded three saves.
SLU resumes Atlantic 10 play on Saturday when it hosts Saint Joseph's at Hermann Stadium. Game time is 7 p.m.
