Kosha Irby was named associate director of athletics for external operations in August 2006. He rejoined the SLU athletic department after serving as assistant director of athletics for marketing and event management at the University of South Florida.
Irby oversees all aspects of the Billikens' marketing and promotional efforts, ticket sales and operations, sponsorship sales, licensing, game management, community outreach and student spirit groups. He also serves as a liaison to radio and television partners.
Irby was the Billikens' director of marketing and sales from May 2003 through June 2005. He came to SLU from Nashville, Tenn., where he worked in the Dell Computer Corp. sales department.
Irby began his athletic administrative career with a one-year stint in the Conference USA office, where he worked with member institutions in developing and implementing integrated marketing and promotional plans. His related experience includes two years running LOGIC, his own entrepreneurial marketing enterprise in Memphis, and one year as a market research assistant for Etheridge and Associates in Memphis.
Irby holds two degrees from the University of Memphis. He earned a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science and graduated with a master's degree in business administration/marketing.
Irby and his wife, Jamina, reside in St. Louis.
