Was the top butterfly specialist for the Billikens as a junior...finished the year with the team's top times in both the 100- and 200-yard butterfly events...set school record in 100 Fly with a time of 50.00 and climbed to third all-time with a 1:54.10 in the 200 Fly...also set three relay records as a member of the 200-yard free relay, 400-yard medley relay and 200-yard medley relay teams.

2010-11
Swam the butterfly leg of the 200-yard medley relay that set a new SLU record at 1:32.65 at the A-10 Championship...also set a new school record in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:23.81. Butzke swam the third leg...Butzke was one of the top butterfly swimmers for the Billikens in 2010-11, notching the season top time in the 100-yard fly (51.31) and the second-fastest time in the 200-yard fly (1:55.90) which is also fifth all-time. Also notched the second fastest 400 IM time in 2010-11 with a time of 4:30.16...was named the swimmer with the best attitude by coach Halliburton.

2009-10
Recorded SLU's top 100-fly time of the season (50.94), which was also a personal best and third-best performance in school history in the A-10 prelim ... placed 15th in the 100-fly final (51.62) after coming in ninth in the prelim ... was a member of the 200-medley (1:34.00) and 400-medley (3:26.61) relays that each registered the second-fastest time in school history at the A-10 Championships ... also swam on the 200-free relay (1:24.66), which clocked the No. 3 time in SLU annals at the A-10s ... touched 21st in the 200 fly (1:57.20) and tied for 25th in the 50 free (21.63) at the conference championships, both of which were personal bests ... received team honors as the Most Improved ... touched first in the 50 free (23.02) at Western Illinois ... won the 100 fly vs. IUPUI and at South Dakota State ... finished first in the 100 fly and second in the 500 free at IUPUI ... came in second in the 200 fly at the South Dakota State-South Dakota meet, vs. Lindenwood and vs. Eastern Illinois ... placed second in the 100 fly vs. Evansville, at the Lindenwood Invitational and at the IUPUI Quad ... posted an eighth-place effort in the 100 fly (53.18) and a 10th-place finish in the 50 fly (24.03) at the Show-Me Showdown ... named to the fall 2009 A-10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Led his team to conference and sectional titles as a senior en route to a fourth-place effort at the IHSA state meet ... finished second in the 100 fly (51.85) at the sectional meet ... was named to the All-Conference and All-Area honorable mention squads ... helped the Cadets finish unbeaten in dual meets his senior year ... two-year letterwinner in swimming ... also played football his first two years of high school ... earned Superior Academic Honors as a sophomore and junior ... awarded Distinguished Academic Honors in each of his final three years ... was a member of the Academy Bullets club squad ... the Bullets were the 2008 Senior Short Course Team Champs and finished seventh at the Short Course Junior Nationals in 2009.
