Alba de la Torre is in her second season as assistant coach for the Saint Louis University women’s tennis team.
A 2022 graduate of Auburn University at Montgomery, de la Torre was a four-year member of the Warhawks’ tennis team. Her 11 doubles wins as a senior tied for the team lead, and she and her doubles partner reached No. 20 in the NCAA Division II national rankings in her junior season.
De la Torre registered a team-high 12 doubles victories as a sophomore, and her 7-3 singles record vs. Gulf South Conference opponents that year was second best on the team. She turned in a 12-5 overall record and a 10-1 conference mark in singles in her freshman campaign.
A native of Madrid, Spain, de la Torre captured Madrid regional doubles and singles championships, won the Torneo de Navidad, Torneo Leon and Torneo Race singles tournaments, and was ranked in the top 130 in Spain. She served as a coach at Tennis Couder in Madrid during several summers.
De la Torre earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with majors in marketing and finance. She appeared on the Dean’s List numerous times and was the AUM College of Business Student of the Month in April 2021.
