Jacque Taylor

Jacque Taylor joined the Billikens' cross country/track and field program as an assistant coach in January 2017.

The Billiken program has seen many successes since Taylor's arrival. In the fall of 2021, she helped the men's team to its best-ever finish at the A-10 Cross Country Championships, as the Billikens earned runner-up honors in the meet.

At Taylor's first A-10 Cross Country Championship in 2017, men's runner Manuel de Backer became the first Billiken to capture an A-10 individual title when he finished first in the meet.

A 2015 graduate of Sacramento State, Taylor came to SLU from Ole Miss, where she served as a volunteer assistant distance coach.

With Ole Miss, she assisted the Rebels’ cross country team that saw a steady improvement. In her first season 2015, she helped the Rebels to a fifth place finish in the SEC Cross Country Championships, which was an improvement from 12th place the year prior. In 2016, Ole Miss was the SEC runner up in the SEC Championships.

On the track, Taylor helped coach athletes who broke five distance records during the 2015-16 season. She also assisted with the planning and implementation of training sessions, participated in on-campus recruiting and assisted in team travel.

Taylor was a member of the Sacramento State Hornets’ cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field programs for three years. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Commination with a minor in Humanities and Religious Studies.
