Jake Manzelmann

Jake began at SLU in August of 2021. He currently serves as the Assistant Director of Athletics/Sports Performance, where he oversees strength and conditioning for multiple programs, including men’s basketball and men’s soccer. His career in sports performance spans more than 20 years, working with athletes across a variety of sports including basketball, football, golf, and soccer.

Jake began his career at Texas Tech University, where he served as an assistant strength coach under Mike Leach with the Red Raiders' football program during the 2005–06 season, before moving to Oklahoma State University. At Oklahoma State, he spent 15 years as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Men’s Basketball, while also contributing to the men’s golf program and the development of the Cowgirl softball team.

During his time at Oklahoma State, Manzelmann played a key role in developing elite athletes, including NBA standout Marcus Smart and No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick Cade Cunningham. On the golf side, he worked with top professionals such as Viktor Hovland, Matt Wolff, Wyndham Clark, and Austin Eckroat, and was part of the program’s 2018 NCAA National Championship team.
