His career in sports performance spans more than 20 years, working with athletes across a variety of sports including basketball, football, golf and soccer.

Manzelmann has worked with some of the most successful teams in recent Billiken Athletics history. He oversees sports performance for the Billiken men's soccer program, which has reached the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back seasons, highlighted by the historic 2025 campaign that culminated in the program's first College Cup appearance since 1997. He also directs sports performance for the men's basketball program, which enjoyed a record-breaking 2025-26 season, winning a school-record 29 games, capturing a share of the Atlantic 10 regular-season championship and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Manzelmann began his career at Texas Tech University, where he served as an assistant strength coach under Mike Leach with the Red Raiders football program during the 2005-06 season before moving to Oklahoma State University. At Oklahoma State, he spent 15 years as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for Men's Basketball while also contributing to the men's golf program and the development of the Cowgirl softball team.

During his time at Oklahoma State, Manzelmann played a key role in developing elite athletes, including NBA standout Marcus Smart and No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick Cade Cunningham. On the golf side, he worked with top professionals such as Viktor Hovland, Matt Wolff, Wyndham Clark and Austin Eckroat, and was part of the program's 2018 NCAA National Championship team.
