Jen Taft joined the Saint Louis University athletics staff as Associate Director of Sports Performance in August 2020. Taft came to SLU from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri, where she was an athletic performance coach working primarily with the baseball and women’s volleyball teams, and assisting with football, since March 2019.
 
Taft serves as the strength and conditioning coach for the Billikens’ women’s basketball, women’s soccer, baseball, men’s and women’s tennis, and men’s and women’s cross country teams.
 
Prior to her stint at Lindenwood, Taft spent two-and-a-half years as an assistant athletics performance coach at Arkansas State University. She implemented the strength and conditioning program for the Red Wolves’ baseball team for two years, assisted with the football team in the 2016 through 2018 seasons, spent a season in charge of women’s soccer and women’s bowling, and assisted with several other Olympic sports.
 
Taft served sports performance coaching internships at the University of North Carolina and with Cressey Sports Performance in Jupiter, Florida. In a two-and-a-half-year tenure at Northland (Wisconsin) College, she began as head cross country coach and later added the duties of strength and conditioning coach and fitness center coordinator. Taft also was an assistant coach at State University of New York institutions Cortland (cross country/track and field) and Plattsburgh (track and field).
 
Taft earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism at SUNY Plattsburgh and a Master of Science degree in exercise science at SUNY Cortland. Her certifications are CSCS-NSCA, SCCC-CSCCa, PN-1, FMS, USAW Level 1 and RPR Level 1.
