Logan Moon joined the Saint Louis University baseball staff as volunteer coach in September 2020 and was elevated to assistant coach working primarily with the hitters following the 2021 season.
The offense made large strides during Moon’s first two full seasons, reaching unprecedented levels not previously accomplished in program history. In 2023, the Billikens broke the school record for Runs and RBIs in a single season and well as ranked in the top 5 in school history for Hits, Homeruns, Total Bases and Stolen Bases.
In the Atlantic 10 Conference, the Billikens offense ranked first in Runs, Hits and RBIs and top 3 in average, doubles, walks, on base percentage, sac flys and stolen bases.
Nationally, the Billikens ranked in the top-50 in Division I baseball in Runs, Runs per game, On base percentage, Sac Flys and Stolen bases.
During the 2022 season, Moon’s first as a full-time assistant, he helped SLU earn the No. 3 seed in the A-10 Championship and reach the third day of tournament play. Designated hitter Cam Redding was named to the All-Conference first team after batting for a .360 average on the season, including a .379 mark in league play.
The entire offense also made notable strides in nearly every offensive category under his care. The Billikens recorded 86 more runs, 91 more hits, 19 more homeruns and a total base increase of 168. The team also saw a 19-point increase in batting average and a 45-point increase in slugging percentage along with 29 more stolen bases and 50 fewer strikeouts.
Professionally, Moon was drafted in the sixth round by the Kansas City Royals out of Missouri Southern State University in the 2014 MLB Draft. In five seasons of professional ball, he reached the AAA level.
Personal accolades of Moon include winning the 2014 Appalachian League batting title, breaking the Burlington Royals single-season hits record, breaking the Melbourne Aces single-season hits record and earning the 2017 Mike Sweeney Award (Kansas City Royals Minor League player who represents the Royals on and off the field).
Moon spent the 2019-20 season as an assistant coach at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, working with hitters and outfielders, as well as assisting with recruiting. He helped the Eagles to top-10 rankings in home runs per game, total runs and RBIs, as well as having two players in the top 15 individually in homeruns.
