Fr. Michael Rozier, who serves as Chaplain of the Athletic Department, coordinates the department’s chaplaincy program, where Jesuit scholastics serve as team chaplains.
Fr. Rozier is on faculty in the Department of Health Management and Policy where he also serves as chair of the department. He is alum of Saint Louis University, having received his B.A. in chemistry in 2003. While a student, he served as President of the Student Government Association and also played in the pep band.
Upon graduation he entered formation with the Jesuits. Fr. Rozier has earned graduate degrees in philosophy from the University of Toronto, in international health from Johns Hopkins University, and in moral theology from Boston College. He was ordained a priest in 2014 and in 2018, he earned his Ph.D. in Health Management and Policy from University of Michigan.
In 2008, Rozier served as an ethics fellow with the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland and in 2019, he was named a GeoEthics Fellow with the American Geographical Society. Rozier serves on the board of directors of SSM Health Care Corporation and on the board of trustees of Marquette University.
