Miya Sullivan, MS, ATC, LAT, joined the SLU athletic training staff in the fall of 2000 after working for HealthSouth Clinic. Sullivan is a 1996 graduate of Tennessee State University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in health, physical education and recreation with a concentration in athletic training and a minor in nutrition. After graduation, she worked as a physical-therapist technician for Columbia Sports Medicine Clinic in Nashville. Sullivan was the primary athletic trainer for the Billiken women's soccer teams that combined for two regular-season conference championships, two conference tournament titles and two NCAA Tournament appearances from 2004-06. She also oversees the sports medicine operations for SLU's softball, men's tennis and women's tennis teams. In addition to her sport duties, Sullivan assists with the Orthopedic Team Physician's Clinic and insurance and claims, and she oversees inventory and ordering of athletic training supplies. Sullivan was an athletic trainer at Normal Community West High School while pursuing a master's degree in athletic training at Illinois State University. She taught personal fitness and Nautilus conditioning as a graduate assistant at ISU and graduated in 2000.
