Former Billiken Patrick Kella serves the Saint Louis University men’s tennis team as assistant coach.

Kella concluded his four-year SLU career in the spring of 2014. He finished as the program’s all-time leader in singles victories (58), and he reached a tie for 10th place on the Billikens’ list for career doubles wins (37).

As a senior playing No. 1 singles, Kella was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference second team and All-Academic squad, earned ITA Scholar-Athlete accolades and claimed SLU’s Most Valuable Player award. He was tabbed the team’s Most Improved Player in his junior campaign, and his 16 singles wins as a sophomore are tied for seventh on SLU’s all-time single-season chart. Kella was named to the A-10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll (minimum 3.5 semester grade point average) in seven of his eight semesters.

Kella earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting in 2014.
