Paul Sanfilippo was named associate director of athletics for business and finance in October 2009.
Sanfilippo is responsible for business affairs and the annual operating budget for intercollegiate athletics. He prepares department revenue/expense projections, implements and maintains business/accounting systems and utilizes budget forecasting to ensure departmental financial integrity.
Sanfilippo has a strong background in the financial sector. He was a cyber representative with AT&T Yellow Pages immediately prior to joining the Billiken staff, and he served as vice president for commercial real estate at Union Planters Bank, First Bank and Midland States Bank between 1998 and 2007. He began his banking career as a customer service specialist in 1984 with Landmark Bank, which eventually was acquired by Union Planters, and was promoted several times until being named vice president in 1998.
Sanfilippo earned a bachelor's degree at Istituto Tecnico Commerciale "F. Ferrera" in Palermo, Italy. He is a St. Louis native and a graduate of Parkway North High School.
