Shannon Wylie has been Saint Louis University’s head cheerleading coach since August 2017. Wylie leads the effort to develop and maintain a high-quality cheer program that promotes school spirit and the values of Saint Louis University, collaborating with other athletics staff members to assure an engaging gameday atmosphere.
Wylie also has been head coach of Chance’s Pride Superstars CheerAbilities team since 2015. She was head coach of the Sikeston All-Stars Youth Team from 2010-13, has served as a choreographer and judge for regional and state cheerleading competitions in Missouri, and was a founding member of Gateway Tykes on Trykes. Wylie is certified in cheerleading safety by the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators.
Wylie is a full-time occupational therapist who provides home health and school-based services for a variety of clients from birth through young-adult age in the St. Louis area. She earned a bachelor’s degree in occupational science (2009) and a master’s degree in occupational therapy (2010) at the University of Missouri, where she was a four-year member of the cheerleading squad.
