Former Billiken standout Lance Vodicka is in his third season on the Saint Louis staff. Vodicka primarily works with the Billiken men’s team.

Following a successful juniors career that culminated with a No. 26 national ranking, Vodicka won a school-record 110 matches during his SLU tenure (2001-04). His 56 career doubles victories (56-36) are a school standard, and his 54 career singles wins (54-45) are tied for the top spot in Billiken history. As a sophomore, Vodicka teamed with Ikaika Jobe to produce 18 doubles triumphs (18-8), which at the time was a school record. He was selected to the All-Conference third team as a freshman and was a four-time Conference USA Sportsmanship Award recipient.

Vodicka began competing in professional tennis events as an amateur in 2001, and he became SLU’s first world-ranked player in 2002 after earning his first ATP point. He began to play overseas in late 2006 and was a full-time player on the pro circuit from May 2007 to July 2008, competing in Spain, Thailand, China, India, Slovakia, Romania, Finland, Italy, Sardinia, France, Mexico, Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and Norway. Vodicka’s highest world rankings were No. 728 in singles and No. 649 in doubles.

Vodicka graduated from SLU in 2004, earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance. The St. Louis University High School graduate resides in St. Louis and works as a private instructor at various St. Louis-area tennis clubs.
