Eagles Fly by Billikens 61-39

Game Action

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College Eagles took early command with a 14-0 run and posted a 61-39 victory over Saint Louis on Tuesday evening at the Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Billikens 39-point output was a season low.

The Eagles scored on their first possession of the game, but Kevin Lisch drained a 3-pointer at the shot clock buzzer to put the Billikens on top 3-2. The Eagles scored seven straight points to surge ahead. III drove the lane on the left side to bring the Billikens to 9-5. However, BC answered with a 14-0 run to take a 23-5 advantage.

Luke Meyer drilled a trey to finally end the long SLU drought. After one BC free throw, Meyer scored on consecutive possessions with a reverse layup and a long wing jumper. Paul Eckerle's trey from the left brought the Billikens to 28-15 with just under five minutes left in the first half. On SLU's last possession of the half, Liddell rattled in a 3-pointer from the right to draw the Billikens to 33-20 at halftime. The Eagles finished the half hitting 12-of-25 from the field (48.0 percent), while the Billikens managed to make 8-of-26 (30.8 percent).

Bryce Husak scored in the paint, and another hoop by Meyer kept the Billiken deficit at 37-24 four minutes into the second half. Corey Raji led BC on a 13-4 run as he scored nine points during the burst as the Eagles built their first 20-point lead of the evening. The Billikens were able to get the gap under 20 on Eckerle's second trey of the night, but they dropped their fourth straight road contest of the season. The Eagle defense slowed the Billiken attack, and BC blocked 10 shots, the most by a Billiken foe this season.

Kevin Lisch had a team-high seven rebounds. Corey Raji led four Eagles in double figures with 13 points.

The Billikens fall to 6-4 on the season, while the Eagles up their mark to 6-1. The Billikens begin a four-game homestand on Saturday, Dec. 8, when they host Sam Houston State for a 7 p.m. at Scottrade Center.
