Bills Drop A-10 Match against Duquesne

DAYTON, Ohio - Despite singles victories from Katerina Lozanova and Jo Becker, the Saint Louis women's tennis team dropped its first match against league foe Duquesne since the Bills joined the Atlantic 10 Conference prior to last season. SLU (8-11) is now 1-2 against conference opponents this season.

At the first singles position Lozanova cruised to a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Johanna Bezjak while Becker easily won her match at the fifth position 6-0, 6-4. Both players now have 14 singles victories this season. Ana Renda nearly picked up SLU's third victory but ultimately succumbed 6-7, 6-7 at the second spot. Tara Grant also came close to knocking off her opponent at third singles but fell 3-6, 7-6, 3-6.

Tomorrow the Billikens will face UMKC at 1 p.m. in Kansas City, Mo. prior to taking on South Dakota State at 5 p.m.
