Oct. 4, 2008

Box Score

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Hailey Beam's goal in the ninth minute was the only tally Charlotte would need, and the 49ers went on to post a 3-0 Atlantic 10 Conference victory over Saint Louis Saturday night.

Beam's goal, her ninth of the season, was scored at the 8:59 mark with an assist from Sam Huecker. Whitney Weinraub knocked in her ninth marker of the season at 12:29, assisted by Oni Bernard and Megan Minnix, and Charlotte took a 2-0 lead into intermission.

The 49ers (7-3-1, 3-0-0), who share the A-10 lead with Fordham, received an insurance goal from Bernard at 81:33. Jenna McKeon assisted on the goal, which was Bernard's fifth of the year.

The Billikens (5-3-3, 1-2-0) got six saves from freshman goalkeeper Hannah Perry (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North). Charlotte's Lauren Brown collected two stops.

Saint Louis returns to Robert R. Hermann Stadium on Friday, Oct. 10, to host A-10 opponent Saint Joseph's. Game time is 7 p.m.
