SLU, Davidson Battle to Scoreless Draw

DAVIDSON, N.C. – No. 8 Saint Louis and Davidson battled to a 0-0 draw in Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer action Friday night in Davidson, N.C.

The Billikens move to 8-2-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the A-10, while Davidson moves to 5-1-3 and 0-1-1 in the league. The Wildcats are receiving votes in the NSCAA national rankings, while the Billikens are ranked No. 8 by Soccer America and No. 13 by the NSCAA.


SLU Starters – GK: Sascha Otte; D: Tyler David, Max Karcher, Anthony Manning; MF: Marco Heskamp, Raymond Lee, David Graydon, Filip Pavisic, Francisco Vizcaino; F: Kingsley Bryce, Robert Kristo.

SLU Goals – None.


The Billikens out-shot the Wildcats 14-11 and held a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks. Senior midfielder Raymond Lee led the way with five shots for the Billikens, while junior midfielder David Graydon fired four shots.

Freshman goalkeeper Sascha Otte made four saves for SLU in his seventh shutout of the season.

The Billikens remain on the road to face George Mason Sunday at noon (CT). The Patriots (7-2-3, 0-1-1 A-10), who tied Dayton 1-1 in Ohio tonight, are receiving votes in the NSCAA national rankings.
