Yacoubou's Strong Night Helps Bills Roll by Rockhurst

ST. LOUIS - Ash Yacoubou recorded his first career double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Billikens in their 80-48 win over Rockhurst Tuesday evening at Chaifetz Arena.

The Bills improved to 5-2 with the victory and have now won 65 straight contests when holding their opponents to 60 points or fewer. Rockhurst remained at 3-2, as the game was an exhibition for the NCAA Division II Hawks.

Yacoubou, a 6-foot-4 redshirt-junior guard, has led Saint Louis in rebounding in six of its seven games. He scored nine of his 11 points in the first half.

Freshman Milik Yarbrough had a terrific all-around game for SLU, scoring 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting, snagging seven boards and earning a game-high five assists.

Another freshman, Miles Reynolds, hit 7 of 9 free throws en route to scoring a game-high 14 points. Davell Roby canned a pair of 3-pointers to notch 10 points, which gave the Bills three freshmen in double figures.

Three days after scoring a career-high eight points in a win over Bradley, Reggie Agbeko set a new career best with nine points in 14 minutes against the Hawks. He was a perfect 5 of 5 from the free-throw line.

Joshua Brannon had eight points and eight rebounds off the bench for Rockhurst. Dominique Washington also scored eight points for the Hawks.

Tuesday's game was part of the Jesuit Basketball Spotlight. Since the 2008-09 season, the JBS has brought greater positive awareness and exposure to Jesuit education and its shared mission to thousands of people across the nation who have attended more than 500 JBS games. The Billikens will host a second JBS game when they take on Saint Joseph's Feb. 3.

Up next, SLU will travel to Wichita, Kan., to play Wichita State on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. (CT). The Shockers are ranked in the top 10 in both the AP Top-25 poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll.
