The Basics
Saint Louis benefitted from an own goal and defeated Fordham 1-0 Saturday night in Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer action in the Bronx, N.Y.

The win, SLU's first in the A-10 this season, improves its record to 5-5-2 overall and 1-1-2 in league play. The Billikens handed Fordham its first conference loss of the year, as the Rams fall to 5-5-3 overall and 3-1-0 in the A-10.

Senior Vince Cicciarelli provided the pressure that eventually led to the own goal. It was his shot that was redirected by a Fordham defender into the net in the 48th minute.

The Billiken defense did not allow Fordham a shot on goal. Sascha Otte was credited with the shutout, his fourth of the season.
