Olean, N.Y.
The Basics
Saint Louis senior Vince Cicciarelli scored in the 12th minute, and that goal stood as the difference in a 1-0 Billiken victory over St. Bonaventure Saturday in Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer action in Olean, N.Y.
The win, SLU's fourth in a row, improves its record to 8-5-2 overall and 4-1-2 in A-10 play. St. Bonaventure falls to 2-15-1 overall and 1-6 in the league.
Cicciarelli's goal, his fifth of the year, came on a corner kick. Junior Joe Saad sent the ball into the box, and Cicciarelli headed it home for his first goal since Sept. 15. It was Saad's team-leading fifth assist of the year.
The Billiken defense was stellar once again, not allowing the Bonnies a shot on frame. Sophomore goalie Sascha Otte was credited with his seventh shutout of the year. Saint Louis has not allowed a goal in four of its six conference games.
