The Basics
Saadiq Mohammed scored in the 22nd minute and Ben Yeager (De Smet) made four saves for a clean sheet in his first career start as Saint Louis upended Dayton 1-0 Saturday night in Atlantic 10 Conference men's soccer action at Dayton's Baujan Field.
It was the second win in a row for the Billikens, who remain unbeaten in A-10 play with a 2-0 record (3-4-3 overall.) Dayton dips to 4-6-2 overall and 1-1-1 in league play.
Mohammed scored the lone goal of the game midway through the opening half when he collected the ball 25 yards out and fired into the upper-left corner of the goal. It was Mohammed's first-career tally.
Yeager was the surprise starter in goal for the Billikens, subbing in for an injured Sascha Otte. Yeager was sharp in his first-career start, stopping four Dayton shots and helping fight off other dangerous chances by the Flyers.
Saint Louis outshot the Flyers 12-10 and had an 8-6 advantage in corner kicks.
