St. Louis, Mo. | Hermann Stadium
The Basics
Saint Louis' Max Karcher converted a penalty kick in the 86th minute to help the Saint Louis Billikens salvage a draw against Marquette Saturday night at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.
The Billikens move to 1-1-2 with the tie, while Marquette is now 3-1-1.
The Golden Eagles opened the scoring in the 67th minute when Connor Alba fired from the top of the box and found the back of the net.
Marquette had the 1-0 lead until late in regulation after the Billikens were awarded a penalty kick when Anthony Brown was fouled in the box. Karcher converted the free chance – the first of the season and his third career goal – to make it 1-1.
That remained the score after 20 minutes of overtime. Sascha Otte made four saves for the Billikens, as did Marquette's Luis Barraza.
