Saint Louis Volleyball Announces Summer Camps

ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis head volleyball coach Kent Miller has announced dates and times for the 2017 Saint Louis Volleyball Camps.

"Our camps are unique in that they provide the beginning player with a sound foundation, yet they also challenge the higher-level players, helping them improve with advanced technical and tactical training," Miller says about the philosophy of his camps. "We work really hard to ensure that each player is challenged at the appropriate level to allow them to improve as much as possible."

The camps will be taught by Miller and the rest of the Saint Louis volleyball staff. Select current and former Billikens will assist the coaching staff as camp coaches, along with other collegiate players. All camps will be held at the Chaifetz Pavilion, home of Billiken Volleyball.

For more information or to register for the camps, visit www.saintlouisvolleyballcamp.com. To contact the Saint Louis staff, please email info@saintlouisvolleyballcamp.com or call (314) 394-1110.

Saint Louis University Camps are open to any and all entrants limited only by name, number, age, grade level and/or gender.

CAMP DESCRIPTIONS AND DATES
Individual Camp, which focuses on an all-around improvement of skills and 6-on-6 team play, will be July 11-13 as well as July 17-19 from 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. each day.

Libero/Defensive Specialist Camp is a one-day camp dedicated to this specialized position and will be held July 20 from 9:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. for players entering grades 6 – 8 and July 14 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. for players entering grades 9 – 12.

Two-hour mini-camps focused on hitting, blocking, serving, setting and passing will be held throughout the same two weeks as individual camps. These mini-camps focus exclusively on one skill and augment training received in Individual Camp. They also serve well as stand-alone training sessions. Again this year high school only mini-camps are available to allow more advanced training targeted to experienced players.

Finally, two high school boys' mini-camps will be held. Both will be held on July 19. Boys HS Hitting Mini-Camp runs from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. and Boys HS Blocking Mini-Camps runs from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
