ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis defeated George Washington 3-1 in the Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Soccer Championship title game on Sunday to secure its second straight A-10 Championship crown.
The Billikens (16-3-2) now advance to the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. The selection show is scheduled for Monday, Nov. 11, at 3:30 p.m. (CT) on NCAA.com. The team will gather at Lorenzini's inside Chaifetz Arena beginning at 3 p.m. to watch the selection show. The public is invited.
On Sunday, the Billikens converted two PKs in the first half. On the first
Alyssa Seitzer drew a foul in the box, and Hanna Freidrich converted the PK to put SLU on top 1-0.
Alli Klug buried the second PK after GW was whistled for a hand ball in the penalty area.
Emily Groark made it 3-0 SLU in the 18th minute when she registered her first goal as a Billiken, scoring off a feed from Friedrich.
George Washington scored in the 84th minute, but it wasn't enough and the Billikens held on for their second straight A-10 Championship title.
Courtney Reimer was named the Most Outstanding Player of the A-10 Championship. Joining her on the All-Championship team were
Emma Farley, Friedrich,
Alli Klug and
Mary Niehaus.Â

- The A-10 Championship title is the fourth in Billiken women's soccer history, and second in a row.
- SLU extended its school-record unbeaten streak to 16 games (14-0-2).
- The Billikens tied the school record for home wins in a season (11).
- Saint Louis is 37-1-5 in its last 43 home games.
- The Billikens have a 26-game unbeaten streak vs. A-10 opponents.
- Emily Groark became the 15th Billiken to score a goal this season.
- The Groark-from-Friedrich goal is the 30th different player combination on SLU's 34 assisted goals this season.
- Hannah Friedrich's goal was her 11th of the season, matching her total of 2018. Friedrich now has 28 points, just two points shy of the school-record 30 she tallied a year ago.
- Friedrich moved into seventh place on SLU's career points list (58) and a tie for seventh on the Bills' career goals chart (22).
- Already the winningest class in SLU women's soccer history, the Billiken seniors registered their 64th victory.
- Alli Klug and Evie Lavelle played in their 85th game at Saint Louis, just one shy of equaling the school record.
