St. Louis, Mo. (Hermann Stadium)
RECAP
Leo Novaes scored for the second time in as many games as Saint Louis registered a 1-0 victory over Tulsa Tuesday night at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.
The Billikens improve to 2-2 with the victory, while Tulsa falls to 2-3.
Novaes' game-winning goal came in the 50th minute. Devin Boyce brought the ball to the top of the box and fed it to Stojanovic, who with a quick touch, sent it outside to Novaes. Novaes struck a shot to the far post, away from the out-stretched arms of the Tulsa keeper, to make it 1-0.
Tulsa did not go down quietly, as the Billikens fought off several chances, including a shot right at the time the clock struck 90 that SLU keeper Patrick Schulte had to be sharp on.
Schulte finished with four saves for his first-career shutout.Â
The Billikens begin Atlantic 10 Conference play this weekend when they travel to Davidson, North Carolina, to face the Davidson Wildcats. Game time is 6 p.m. (CT).
