O'FALLON, Ill. – Saint Louis men's tennis collected its first win of the season Friday night, edging Chicago State 4-3 at St. Clair Tennis Club.
Trailing 1-0 following doubles play, SLU took a 2-1 lead with forfeits at No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Chicago State pulled even with a win at No. 3, but
Pavel Badaiants and
Alex Heiden prevailed at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively, to seal the victory. Badaiants ousted Jesus Perez Plaza 6-3, 6-1, while Heiden was a 6-3, 6-2 winner over Cody Wurzelbacher.
The Billikens return to action Saturday, Jan. 25, taking on IUPUI at Kings Point Sports Club in Belleville, Illinois. Match time is 4 p.m.
