No. 11 Memphis Topples Billikens, 90-74

MEMPHIS – Saint Louis fell to 11th-ranked Memphis 90-74 Tuesday night in nonconference men's basketball action at FedExForum.

Saint Louis falls to 3-1 on the season. Memphis improves its record to 3-0.

The Billikens' Terrence Hargrove Jr. recorded his first-career double-double with 20 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. Francis Okoro added 13 boards and blocked three shots for SLU.

Jordan Nesbitt, who returned to Memphis after playing in three games last semester for the Tigers, scored 13 points for the Bills. Marten Linssen contributed 11 points and six rebounds.

Yuri Collins notched seven assists and set a career high with five steals.

SLU shot 31.2 percent from the field, 22.7 percent from 3-point range and 65.6 percent from the charity stripe. Memphis shot 54.4 percent from the field, including a sizzling 60-percent mark in the second half alone.

The Billikens led 13-10 at one point in the first half, but the Tigers went on a 9-0 to grab a lead they would not relinquish.

Memphis used another scoring run, this time a 10-0 rally, to build a 15-point margin heading into halftime.

Okoro and Nesbitt had two early baskets in the second half to force a Memphis timeout. A DeAndre Jones tried to spark a rally with a trey midway through the second half, but the Billikens were unable to mount a comeback and eventually fell by 16.

Saint Louis returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 20, when it takes on Mercer in a 4 p.m. tip at Chaifetz Arena. The game will be televised on Bally Sports Midwest.
