THE BASICS
• Saint Louis fell 90-81 to Massachusetts in an Atlantic 10 Championship semifinal Saturday afternoon at VCU's Siegel Center.
• Saint Louis slipped to 12-4, while UMass improved to 14-6.
 
FIRST QUARTER
• UMass jumped out to an 11-5 lead at the 4:50 mark.
• Saint Louis outscored UMass 16-8 the rest of the way to lead 21-19. Rachel Kent, who tallied the Billikens' first eight points, finished the quarter with 11, and Ciaja Harbison added six.
 
SECOND QUARTER
• Harbison hit an early jumper to expand SLU's lead to four.
• UMass answered with an 8-0 spurt to go in front 27-23.
• The Minutewomen maintained the upper hand the rest of the quarter, leading by as many as nine points twice before settling for a 42-36 advantage at the buzzer.
 
THIRD QUARTER
• The first of Myia Clark's four second-half 3-pointers with 9:05 left cut the UMass lead in half.
• The Minutewomen immediately answered with a bucket, and their lead hovered between four and seven points until late in the quarter.
• UMass finished the period with an 8-0 run that resulted in a 65-52 lead.
 
FOURTH QUARTER
• The margin remained in double digits until Brooke Flowers' bucket with 6:17 left brought the Billikens to within eight, 71-63.
• UMass scored the next four points, and SLU drew no closer than seven until a Flowers layup with 18 seconds left made it 87-81.
• The Minutewomen made three free throws to secure the win.
 
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Kent finished with 18 points and five rebounds.
• Clark tallied 16 points, 14 of which came in the second half.
• Flowers and Harbison scored 15 points apiece. Flowers grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds, while Harbison collected a game-high six assists.
• Julia Martinez had five assists.
