THE BASICS

Brooke Flowers had 16 points and a game-high 17 rebounds, and
Ciaja Harbison scored a game-high 18 points, but Northern Iowa claimed a 58-50 victory over Saint Louis Monday night in the final of the Women's National Invitation Tournament Rockford Regional.
• Flowers added three blocks.
Myia Clark tallied seven points and eight rebounds, while
Myriama Smith Traore and
Rachel Kent grabbed six rebounds apiece.
• The Billikens finished the season with a 14-5 record. Northern Iowa improved to 17-12.

FIRST HALF
• Both teams were ice cold in a first quarter that ended in a 5-5 tie.
• UNI led 11-7 with 8:32 left in the second quarter.
• Flowers scored four points in a 6-0 spurt that put the Billikens in front 13-11.
• Harbison hit a jumper in the closing seconds to give SLU a 17-16 edge at intermission.

SECOND HALF
• Clark connected from the arc to give Saint Louis its largest lead, 24-20, at the 6:27 mark of the third quarter.
• An 8-0 UNI run gave the Panthers a 28-24 advantage.
• SLU tallied the next four points to forge a 28-28 deadlock, but the Bills never regained the lead.
• An 8-0 flurry put UNI on top 36-28 after three.
• The Panthers extended their lead to 46-34 with 7:29 remaining.
• Harbison canned a 3-pointer and a layup to narrow the gap to seven, 46-39, with 5:25 to play.
• UNI regained command with a 7-0 run that gave the Panthers a 53-39 lead at the 3:33 mark.
• Five Saint Louis free throws whittled the margin to nine with 2:07 remaining, but the Billikens drew no closer until the final score.
