DAYTON, Ohio – Dayton scored with seven seconds remaining in double overtime to post a 1-0 victory over the Billikens on Sunday.
SLU falls to 7-4 overall and 2-2 in A-10 play. It was the second straight double OT loss for the Billikens. In fact, three of their four losses have come in overtime, and all four defeats were by one goal margins.Â
Dayton (2-3-1, 2-1-1 A-10) scored the game winner in the 110th minute. The Flyers sent a free kick from just inside midfield into the area. The ball was deflected to Jake Feiner, who from the left side slipped a shot underneath Patrick Schulte for the golden goal.
The Billikens outshot the Flyers 14-11, including 7-5 in the overtime sessions.
Saint Louis returns to action next Saturday (April 3) when it takes on St. Bonaventure at Hermann Stadium. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.
