Billikens Rally Late to Beat Colonials

GAME DETAILS
• Saint Louis posted four ninth-inning runs to win 9-7 at George Washington Sunday afternoon in an Atlantic 10 Conference game at Tucker Field in Arlington, Va.
• SLU and GW split the weekend series 2-2.
• The Billikens improved to 15-24 on the season and 5-3 in league play, while George Washington moved to 19-12, 8-4.

SCORING
• Derek Ripp's two-run double in the bottom of the fourth inning put George Washington up 2-0.
• The Colonials picked up a third run in the fifth inning, scoring on a sacrifice fly.
• Cole Smith drove in a run with a fielder's choice, and Colin Bergmann drove in another with a sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning.
• GW plated three runs in the sixth, including an RBI triple from Ripp.
• Ryan Hernandez's three-run home run brought the Billikens back within one in the top of the eighth frame.
• The Colonials picked up an insurance run with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth.
• A Smith RBI single and a bases-loaded walk to Hernandez tied the game at seven for the Billikens in the top of the ninth. Colten Schild followed with a two-RBI single, giving SLU a 9-7 advantage.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• The home run was Hernandez's third on the year. He finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs and one run scored.
• Redding reached base four times, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored, one walk and a hit by pitch.
• Matt Happ had two hits and two runs scored.
• Smith drove in two runs, going 1-for-4 with a walk.
