Katie Shields has announced that rising sophomore goalkeeper
Natalie Phelps has transferred to SLU from the University of Illinois.

The 5-foot-11 Phelps (Wildwood, Mo.) recorded 31 career shutouts at Lafayette High School. She had a 0.46 goals against average and .846 save percentage as a freshman, a 0.50 GAA and .882 save percentage as a sophomore, and a 0.80 GAA and .877 save percentage as a junior.

Phelps earned first-team All-Conference honors as a junior and was a second-team All-Conference choice as a sophomore. She played club soccer with St. Louis Scott Gallagher.

Phelps joins a Saint Louis program that has captured Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season and tournament titles and made an NCAA Championship appearance in each of the past three seasons. The 2020-21 Billikens vaulted into the top 10 of the Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) and finished the season with the United Soccer Coaches' No. 20 national ranking.
