ST. LOUIS – Head coach Katie Shields has announced the 2021 Saint Louis University women's soccer schedule. The Billikens' 18-game slate – eight nonconference contests followed by 10 Atlantic 10 Conference matches – features nine home games at Robert R. Hermann Stadium and four opponents from Power 5 conferences.

"We are looking forward to welcoming fans back to Hermann Stadium with an exciting slate of home games," Shields said. "Associate head coach Chris Allen has done tremendous work in assembling a challenging nonconference schedule that will prepare us for conference play and position us for success in the NCAA Tournament."

Following two exhibition games – at SIUE Aug. 7 and vs. Evansville Aug. 14 – Saint Louis hosts Xavier in the season opener Aug. 19. Iowa, which won the Big Ten Conference tournament and a first-round game in its second straight NCAA Championship appearance last spring, comes to Midtown Aug. 22. The Billikens travel to Kansas Aug. 26 and to Illinois State Aug. 29 to finish the first half of the nonconference schedule.

A second Power 5 opponent visits Hermann Stadium when the Billikens take on Louisville of the Atlantic Coast Conference Sept. 2. SLU meets the Big Ten again at Purdue Sept. 5, hosts Missouri State Sept. 9 and concludes nonconference play at Indiana State Sept. 12.

Four of Saint Louis' first six A-10 games are at home, beginning with Dayton in the league opener Sept. 19. The Bills are at Duquesne Sept. 23, host La Salle Sept. 26 and travel to VCU Sept. 30. SLU ends the first half and begins the second half of the A-10 slate with home fixtures against George Washington Oct. 3 and Massachusetts Oct. 10.

The Billikens are road warriors down the stretch, playing at Saint Joseph's Oct. 14, at George Mason Oct. 17 and at Rhode Island in the regular-season finale Oct. 24. SLU faces Richmond Oct. 21 in its final regular-season home game.

The Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Soccer Championship returns to its customary eight-team format this season. Quarterfinal games will take place at campus sites Oct. 30 or 31, while the semifinals and final will be played Nov. 5 and 7, respectively, at a campus site to be determined.

Saint Louis returns 20 players, including all 11 starters, from its 2020-21 team that finished 15-1-1, won A-10 regular-season and tournament titles for a third consecutive season, and made a third straight NCAA Championship appearance. The Billikens were No. 20 in the final United Soccer Coaches national poll.

All eight of SLU's 2020-21 All-Conference honorees are back, including Offensive Player of the Year Hannah Friedrich, Defensive Player of the Year Emily Puricelli and Midfielder of the Year Abbie Miller.
