•Reaching the midpoint of its eight-game non-conference schedule, Saint Louis clashes with Illinois State Sunday, Aug. 29. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.

•The Billikens are seeking their first victory of the season following 1-0 losses to Xavier and Iowa and a 2-0 defeat at Kansas.
•After defeating Eastern Michigan in their opener, the Redbirds fell to 1-2-0 with losses to Illinois and Western Illinois.
•Illinois State, which is picked to finish second in the nine-team Missouri Valley Conference, posted records of 4-7-1 overall and 4-4-0 a season ago. The Redbirds reached the MVC tournament semifinals.
•SLU and Illinois State are meeting for a seventh time, with the Billikens leading the series 3-2-1 after winning the last two games vs. the Redbirds. ISU leads 2-0-1 in Normal. Last season,

Hannah Friedrich is one of 59 NCAA Division I women's soccer student-athletes named to the 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List.
•Friedrich has 80 points, good for third place on SLU's career list. She is the program's career leader in game-winning goals (13) and ranks third in game-winning assists (12), fourth in goals (26) and fourth in assists (28).

Katie Shields began the 2021 campaign ranked 27th in winning percentage among active NCAA Division I women's soccer head coaches.
•SLU is a near-unanimous pick to win a fourth straight Atlantic 10 Conference championship.

Sophia Stram were selected to the preseason All-Conference team.
•The 2021 season is the 26th in the history of Saint Louis University women's soccer. The Billikens are 282-164-56 (.618); in conference play (Conference USA 1996-2004, Atlantic 10 since 2005), SLU is 148-68-26 (.665).
•Last spring, the Billikens posted a 16th winning season, a 10th season with a winning percentage of .700 or better, and the best winning percentage in program history (.912/15-1-1).
•Saint Louis returns to Hermann Stadium Thursday, Sept. 2, to host Louisville. Game time is 7 p.m.
