ST. LOUIS –Â
Yuri Collins earned his second Atlantic 10 Conference weekly award of the season today when he was named the A-10's Player of the Week for the period of Dec. 12-18.
Â
In the Billikens' win against Drake on Saturday, Collins scored a team-high-tying 17 points and dished out nine assists while committing just one turnover. He also registered a pair of steals.
Â
Collins shot 50 percent (6-12) from the field in the game and buried a pair of 3-pointers. He hit all three of his free-throw attempts and also brought down four rebounds.
Â
For the season, Collins continues to lead the NCAA in total assists (124) and assists per game (10.3). His 678 career assists are tied for seventh in A-10 history with Chris Lowe (UMass, 2006-09).
Â
Collins becomes the first Billiken since Larry Hughes in 1998 to be named conference Player of the Week more than once during nonconference play. Additionally, this is Collins' fourth A-10 Player of the Week accolade of his career, which matches Jordair Jett for the most in school history.
Â
Also, Collins is the first A-10 player this season to earn more than one A-10 Player of the Week award.
Â
Collins and the Billikens close out nonconference play on Wednesday night when they face SIUE at Chaifetz Arena. Game time is 7 p.m. on Bally Sports Midwest.
