The Billikens and Cardinals have met 11 times, with Ball State leading the series 6-5. Saint Louis took the most recent matchup, a 59-55 contest at Chaifetz Arena on March 21, 2016.

Ball State has won its last three contests and is 5-2 on the season.

KEY STORYLINES
• The Billikens set a program mark against Illinois State, draining all 18 free throw attempts. It was the highest percentage all-time for a Billiken team (minimum 15 attempts). 18 is the second most in the NCAA without a miss this year.
• Flowers' NCAA-leading 48 blocks are already the seventh most in a single season by a Billiken. In her fifth year, Flowers holds five of the top eight spots on SLU's all-time chart. Her 48 blocks double the NCAA's third-ranked player (Jada Rice, Alabama, 24 blocks), on the season.
• After pulling down rebound No. 1,000 in her career against Air Force, another milestone watch is on for Flowers, as the senior is just 14 points shy of 1,000 for her career. She'd become only the second Billiken with 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in her career.
• Julia Martiez ranks ninth in the country with 29 steals on the season. She registered career highs in points (20), field goals (6) and free throws (6) in the win over Illinois State. In her first-career 20-point game, Martinez neared a double-double with nine rebounds.
• Playing and starting in her 100th career game, Kyla McMakin poured in a game- high 22 points against Illinois State. Her 209 points rank fourth in the NCAA.
