THE BASICS
•Saint Louis dropped a pair of decisions Saturday at Southern Mississippi's Black & Gold Invitational, falling 9-0 to Samford and 6-2 to North Alabama.
•The Billikens slipped to 1-3 on the season.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Samford took command with a seven-run second inning and added insurance tallies in the third and fourth frames.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Gabbie Kowalik and Kristi Stevenson belted a triple and a double, respectively.
•Taylor Hochman collected a single.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Neither team dented the scoreboard until the sixth. North Alabama took a 1-0 lead in the top of the inning, but SLU pulled even on Stevenson's two-out RBI single in the bottom half.
•North Alabama rallied for five runs in the eighth.
•Kowalik drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the Billiken eighth.

•Kowalik was 2-for-2.
