THE BASICS
•Saint Louis bounced back from a tough outing in its first game to record a 6-3 victory over Omaha Sunday at Central Arkansas' Michelle Short Memorial Classic.
•The split gave the Billikens a 2-5 record.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Central Arkansas' Jordan Johnson tossed a perfect game, and the Bears scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Taylor Hochman went the distance in the circle and allowed only one earned run while striking out four.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Omaha struck first with three runs in the top of the first inning.
•Saint Louis pulled even in the fourth. Hochman's bases-loaded walk plated the first run, and the second and third runs crossed on a two-out throwing error.
•The Billikens grabbed a 5-3 lead in the fifth on Kendall Johnson's two-out, two-run double.
•SLU added an insurance tally in the sixth on Sadie Wise's two-out RBI double.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Hochman and Allie Herron collected a double apiece.
•Gabbie Kowalik singled.
•Following a rough first inning, Chloe Wendling scattered six hits and did not allow a run over the final six frames. Wendling struck out three and walked only one.
 
UP NEXT
The Billikens conclude play in the Michelle Short Memorial Classic Monday, facing Omaha at 9:30 a.m. and Kansas City at 1:30 p.m.
