THE BASICS
•Chloe Wendling tossed her third shutout of the season, and Saint Louis took advantage of three South Dakota errors to defeat the Coyotes 3-0 Tuesday afternoon at the Billiken Sports Center.
•The Billikens improved to 6-12, while South Dakota slipped to 13-7.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
•Kendall Johnson's RBI single in the bottom of the second inning put Saint Louis in front 1-0.
•The Billikens added two insurance tallies in the fifth. Sadie Wise doubled with two outs and scored on an error by the center fielder on a ball off the bat of Allie Herron, and Kayla Swiderski delivered a pinch-hit RBI single to make it 3-0.
 
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•With a third consecutive victory, Wendling evened her record at 5-5. She recorded a career-high eight strikeouts and allowed just three hits and one walk.
•Wise added a single for a two-hit game. She now has 223 hits, just two shy of Kristin Nicoletti's SLU career record.
•Kristi Stevenson and Natalie Sullivan registered a single apiece.
