THE BASICS
•Sadie Wise and Allie Herron combined for five RBI, and Chloe Wendling tossed her fourth shutout of the season to power Saint Louis to an 8-0 win over Western Illinois Friday at the Billiken Sports Center.
•SLU improved to 7-13, while Western Illinois fell to 4-17.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
•Wise connected for a two-run double in the first inning to put Saint Louis in front 2-0.
•Natalie Sullivan doubled in a run, stole third and scored on a throwing error in the second to make it 4-0 Billikens.
•After a bases-loaded walk to Wise in the fourth increased the lead to 5-0, Herron slammed a double that plated two more runs. Kayla Swiderski drove in the final run with a groundout.
•Wendling pitched around a leadoff double in the WIU fifth to give SLU the run-rule win.
 
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Kristi Stevenson and Gabbie Kowalik had a single apiece.
•Wendling, who notched her fourth consecutive victory, struck out four and walked only one in improving to 6-5 on the season.
