GAME DETAILS
• 14th-seeded George Mason defeated Saint Louis 65-50 Wednesday afternoon in the first round of the 2022 Women's Basketball Atlantic 10 Conference Championship at Chase Fieldhouse in Wilmington, Del.
• The Billikens moved to 9-17 on the year, while GMU went to 9-19.
• Julia Martinez led the Billikens with her second career double-double.
• GMU's Tamia Lawhorne collected a game-best 24 points.
• George Mason held an 8-4 advantage with 3:44 left in the first quarter, but SLU went on an 8-0 run from there to lead 12-8 at the end of the period.
• The Billikens went up by seven with a Martinez free throw at 3:55 in the second quarter. The Patriots ended the half with 11 of the final 15 points to tie things at 26-26 at the break.
• GMU outscored the Billikens 18-10 in the third quarter. At 44-36, the Patriots took an eight-point lead into the fourth.
