Game Notes Saint Louis

QUICK PREVIEW

Saint Louis' (20-10, 11-6 A-10) final regular-season game of the year is a big one, as it welcomes the VCU Rams (21-7, 14-3 A-10) to Chaifetz Arena for the annual Billiken Blue Out. Game time is 3 p.m. All fans are encouraged to wear their favorite Billiken blue shirt to the game.

The Billikens' seeding scenarios for next week's A-10 Championship in Washington, D.C. are quite simple. They will either be the No. 4 seed or the No. 5 seed. To get the No. 4 seed – which is big because it gives SLU a double-bye – the Billikens have to win against the Rams AND Richmond must win on the road at St. Bonaventure on Friday night. Otherwise, the Billikens will be the No. 5 seed.

It is also a big game for VCU, which has won eight in a row. The Rams enter the weekend with a chance to secure a share of the A-10 regular-season title.

Saturday's game will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Robert Lee and Noah Savage are on the call.

FIVE FACTS

1 // Saint Louis will honor six members of the team AFTER the game Saturday for Senior Day festivities – senior managers Stephen Ocampo and David Siemer, and Brandon Courtney, DeAndre Jones, Marten Linssen and Javonte Perkins.

2 // Yuri Collins continues to lead the NCAA in total assists (241) and assists per game (8.0). Given the distance between the next active player on the assists list, it is extremely likely that Collins will finish with the most assists in the NCAA this season. He will join Ed Macauley (.524 FG% in 1948-49) and Anthony Bonner (13.8 rpg in 1989-90) as Billikens who led the NCAA in a statistical category in a season.

3 // Saturday's game marks the 100th A-10 game of Travis Ford's tenure at SLU. The Bills are 54-45 in league games since Ford was hired.

4 // The Billikens lead the A-10 in scoring with 77.7 ppg. That ranks in the top 10 in school history and is the best scoring mark since the 1993-94 Billikens averaged 80.6 ppg.

5 // Tickets are on sale now for the 2022 A-10 Men's Basketball Championship, set for March 9-13 at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Tickets can be purchased through the Billiken Ticket Office to ensure seating in the SLU section. Today is the last day for fans to register for pep rallies before each game at the Bulletin Room at Bar Deco, located near Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
