THE BASICS
•Saint Louis dropped a pair of decisions at the Ole Miss Classic Saturday, falling 6-5 to Samford and 8-0 to Ole Miss.
 
GAME 1 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Louis struck quickly with a pair of first-inning runs. Kayla Swiderski drove in the first with a single, and Allie Herron's RBI groundout made it 2-0.
•Gabbie Kowalik's two-out RBI single in the second put the Billikens in front 3-0.
•Samford plated its first run in the bottom of the third.
•SLU padded its lead in the fifth on Kowalik's first home run of the season, a two-run shot that made it 5-1.
•Samford pulled even by scoring four runs in the sixth, and a run in the seventh won it for the Bulldogs.
 
GAME 1 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Kowalik added a double and a single to finish with a 4-for-4 outing.
•Kristi Stevenson tripled.
•Cami Newbanks singled.
 
GAME 2 – HOW IT HAPPENED
•Ole Miss grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning and added on with a run in the second, two in the third and four in the sixth.
 
GAME 2 – BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Stevenson, Kowalik and Kelsey Etling recorded a single apiece.
