THE BASICS

Jocelyn Abbott homered leading off the eighth inning,
Kristi Stevenson doubled in an insurance run, and Saint Louis came from behind to defeat Saint Joseph's 4-2 Sunday afternoon in the rubber match of a three-game Atlantic 10 Conference series at SJU Softball Field.
•SLU, which improved to 16-17 overall and 8-3 in the A-10, strengthened its hold on second place in the league standings. Saint Joseph's fell to 13-17, 9-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED
•Saint Joseph's held a 2-0 lead after scoring single runs in the first and fourth innings.
•Saint Louis pulled even in the fifth.
Gabbie Kowalik doubled in
Natalie Sullivan, who had drawn a leadoff walk, and later scored on
Cami Newbanks' two-out RBI single.
•Abbott's eighth-inning home run was her second long ball of the season. Sullivan singled with one out and scored on Stevenson's two-bagger.

BILLIKEN NOTABLES
•Kowalik added a single for a two-hit game.
•
Chloe Wendling went the distance and collected her 12th victory of the season. Wendling allowed five hits and one earned run.
